The program is funded by the Indian Department of Biotechnology (DBT) and Heidelberg University (Germany). The Regional Centre for Biotechnology (RCB) acts as a Project Management Agency (German: Projektträger) within the RTG Big Data Research. Currently five Indian Partner institutions signed a memorandum of understanding with Heidelberg University to collaborate within the RTG Big Data Research program:
