Jürgen Hesser is professor at the Mannheim Medical School, Heidelberg University. He is the head of the department “data analysis and modeling in medicine” of the Mannheim institute for intelligent systems in medicine (MIISM). He is co-opted member of the department (faculty) of Physics and Astronomy, and member of both the interdisciplinary center for scientific computing (IWR) and computer engineering (ZITI), Heidelberg University. His research expertise is in the field of inverse problems, in particular in imaging (computer vision, machine learning), but also in radiation oncology (inverse treatment planning).
